This year at the New York Auto Show, Hyundai unveiled the all-new 2024 Hyundai Kona. The 2024 Kona will offer an all-electric powertrain or one of two gas powered engines. The gas model of the 2024 Kona is said to be released in the summer of 2023 just prior to the release of the electric Kona 2024 release date set to be in the fall of 2023. 2024 Kona Exterior
The 2024 Kona exterior takes on a smoother and more modern appearance. Hyundai says the new 2024 Kona’s design is EV-driven and aerodynamic. The Kona is “EV-Driven” in the sense that it was built first as an electric vehicle and then modified for gas powertrains. In terms of size, the new Kona 5.7 inches longer than the previous model.
Kona Interior and Cargo Space
Compared to the 2023 model, the new and improved 2024 Kona interior is 5.7 inches longer and 1 inch wider. These extra inches in addition to slimmer front seats, creates ample cargo room and a comfortable space for passengers to enjoy the ride.
Safety Features
The all-new Kona will offer an wide array of driver assist features. Basic features such as automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist can be expected. Hyundai’s Highway Drive Assist adaptive cruise control and lane centering will be offered in optional packages or higher trim levels. Other features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear occupant alert, automatic high-beams, and driver attention warning may be included or optional dependent on trim level.
Technology
The interior of the all-new Kona is quite similar to that of Hyundai’s IONIQ 5. Like the IONIQ 5, the Kona’s interior offers two 12.3-inch displays, both positioned for the driver’s convenience: a central touchscreen and a digital instrument panel. In addition, Hyundai has removed the center tunnel and moved the shifter closer to the steering wheel allowing for easy accessibility. The 2024 Hyundai Kona will also come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other recent technological advancements include an eight-speaker Bose premium audio system, over-the-air upgrades, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera system, phone-as-key capabilities, and a wireless charging pad will also be available to 2024 Kona drivers.
